How India needs to change it's strategy to build AGI: if not we cannot compete with OpenAI and Google

In the race towards achieving Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), India finds itself at a critical juncture, grappling with the need to innovate and adapt in order to compete with global tech giants like OpenAI and Google . Recent discussions, including tweets from Infosys founder Narayan Murthy and initiatives by prestigious institutes like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), highlight the growing recognition of the importance of developing indigenous alternatives to leading AGI models such as Chat GPT and Gemini. However, while efforts to develop software solutions are commendable, a fundamental shift in strategy is necessary to address the underlying hardware challenges that hinder India's progress in the field of AGI.
